Monday, there was no school, so I decided it was ice cream for lunch. We went to Sweet Ritual for vegan ice cream sundaes. I don't like sweet stuff, so I looked over the Daily Juice cafe menu. I settled on the vegan nachos.
Daily Juice has always seemed like one of those weird, smelly, hippie laden places, so I've always avoided it. I regret that now.
It was not smelly, yes, there were some hippies, but they were nice enough, i guess.
Offspring got their ice cream sundae lunch, and we sat down. They went ahead and started eating, and I waited for nachos. And waited and waited.
Over twenty minutes later, vegan nachos arrived. Side note - it was not at a busy time, nor a lunch rush. There were only like three smoothie orders or something. I did not understand the long wait for something like nachos (put chips on plate, throw crap on top of it. Serve).
Chips, soyrizo, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, warm & toasty, and really really good. It was just a plate full of crunchy, cheesy, melty, meaty, wonderfulness. It was perfectly priced, and a nice size, too.
As I sat, I checked out all the products Daily Juice sells, like proteins and powders, and whatnots. I wondered who the hell buys that shit, and then realized i was eating fake meat, fake cheese, fake sour cream, so i couldn't really judge.
I did anyway.
I will totally try Daily Juice again, not for the juice, nor the smoothies, because i hate juice and smoothies. It seems weird to drink your food. Next time, I'll try the enchiladas or one of the super cool looking wraps.
Thanks.
